Worship

It is in the process of being worshiped that God communicates His presence to men.

Worship at Good Shepherd is marked by:

Truth

Our sermons and teachings are all Bible-based and life-application oriented. We uphold God’s Word to contain all things necessary for salvation. We call on the Holy Spirit to lead us and keep us in His truth.

Release

Throughout each worship service, we have opportunities to hear and respond to God’s Word, to pray, to sing God’s praises, to eat at God’s table, and to offer ourselves to Him. We are not merely observers, but rather participants, anticipating an encounter with the Lord.

Order

Our liturgy – mirroring the worship of the ancient apostolic church while incorporating contemporary expressions of our culture – brings a sense of structure and flow as our worship unfolds.

Legacy

As we worship we see that we are a part of God’s holy, universal church that was birthed on the Day of Pentecost nearly 2000 years ago. Our liturgy and worship recall actual events in Judeo-Christian history; remind us of God’s ongoing, abiding presence through His Holy Spirit; and redirect us forward as we anticipate Jesus Christ’s return and the triumph of His Church. There is a sense, when one fully enters into worship, thet we are a part of something that has lasted – and will last – throughout the ages.

Our present worship team, Dave Costilow on guitar and Kyle Furniss on the keyboard, leads our musical worship with a balanced blend of traditional and contemporary hymns and songs that lead us into the presence of Christ and teach and declare the truth about God and life.
